Flights
Typically flight prices are cheapest 4-7 months in advance, and we recommend booking your flights as soon as you see a reasonable price. A ballpark estimate for a good round trip price is about $800. Keep in mind that you might want to book 2 one-way flights from different airports if you plan on traveling more before or after the wedding.
Closest Major Airports
For the cheapest flights, we recommend flying into Rome.
For the shortest drive from the airport, we recommend flying into Florence.

Renting a car
If you want to spend time exploring Tuscany and going to different wineries/restaurants that aren’t directly in Cortona, we recommend renting a car, because Tuscany is very spread out.
However, if you prefer not to, the trains are still a great option, and you can still explore the larger towns in Tuscany by train and/or book a tour that takes you to the smaller towns and wineries.
Things to Note:
Drivers license
You are required to get an international drivers license to drive in Italy, but it is a very quick process by going to AAA
Costs
If you can drive a stick shift, rental cars will be very inexpensive, but an automatic car will be more expensive
Driving in Italy
Driving around Tuscany is very easy and there is very little traffic.
We recommend just watching a youtube video about Italian street signs beforehand
